DisneyNature ‘Bears’ sneak peek official trailer

Just in time for Earth Day, Disneynature’s new True Life Adventure “Bears” showcases a year in the life of two mother bears as they impart life lessons to their impressionable young cubs. Set against a majestic Alaskan backdrop teeming with life, their journey begins as winter comes to an end and the bears emerge from hibernation to face the bitter cold. The world outside is exciting—but risky—as the cubs’ playful descent down the mountain carries with it a looming threat of avalanches. As the season changes from spring to summer, the brown bear families must work together to find food—ultimately feasting at a plentiful salmon run—while staying safe from predators, including an ever-present wolf pack. “Bears” captures the fast-moving action and suspense of life in one of the planet’s last great wildernesses—where mothers definitely know best and their cubs’ survival hinges on family togetherness. Directed by Alastair Fothergill (“Earth,” “African Cats” and “Chimpanzee”) and Keith Scholey (“African Cats”), “Bears” is in theaters April 18, 2014, to celebrate Earth Day. Pre-K Activities the Letter F

Need Pre-K activities to supplement preschool, pre-k or Kindergarten or to use for your homeschooling lesson plans (actually my kids just think it’s fun to “play school) whatever the reason here are some activities to do with the Letter F:

      1. Notes about the letter F:  On several notecards write both the upper and lower case letter F.  Next go through coloring books, magazines or even draw a picture of something that begins with the letter F.  Write the word on the back of the card.  You can do one a day.
      2. Do the Flamingo Yoga pose. See video below.
      3. Take a nature walk in the neighborhood or at a park and find items that begin with the letter F.
      4. Paint using F words – Feather painting or Fruit Stamp Painting.
      5. Practice writing the letter F using the workbooks recommended below.
      6. Use these F activities and lesson plans  F is for Fish: Homeschool and Preschool Lesson Plans Need an idea for your class or for fun things to do with your preschooler at home? Try F is for Fish activities from gross motor to art. Free printables and instructions are included.

Kindergarten writing prompt for this week – My name is

Now is a good time to start your Kindergarten Kid’s  journal.   You may want to purchase a spiral bound notebook for this project or you can print one directly from here.

Today’s writing prompt, “My name is (insert name here).  Your child should write this out phonetically, without help.  There is plenty of room so they can write it more than once.

Advanced K students could go ahead with writing it out correctly – but not “copying” your print, but following your verbal instructions.

Next your child can draw a picture of themselves to illustration their “story” writing prompt.

Visit our printables page for more free printable activities in PDF form.
