Every week this summer we try to incorporate some arts and crafts into our boredom buster schedule. With a mom working full time and not many camps scheduled due to trying to sell our house creating ways at home to battle boredom and avoid summer learning loss can be challenging. Sometimes it’s just more fun and easier to take to the kit and then let the girls be as creative as they want to be.
This week we tried the Magnetic Mini Tile Art Kit. It comes complete with 10 tiles, a paint brush and paint set. The tiles were easy to remove and you can either create individual magnetic tiles on in this case the girls decided to create a puzzle. They can take it apart on the fridge or dishwasher and put it back together.
The paints were easy to mix to make the colors they wanted and stuck well to the tiles. It does not come with an overlay or protective paint or spray so I would be very careful in the event you need to wash the tiles off. For us it worked fine since they were just going on the fridge anyway to hold up announcements and invites to activities this summer.
I do wish it came with more than one paint brush but that’s okay. We had extras in the house – but after packing up I just had to find them.
The magnets are actually pretty sturdy and able to hold up a card or piece of paper easily.
I think the best part of all was creating their own design and shape and not having to just paint by the numbers or fill in the blanks. It can be as complicated or as simple as you want. You can also create one larger picture, several smaller pictures or one tile at a time so it’s an incredibly versatile and creative kit. Great for a party at the house or even a gift.
