Are your kids “totally” into Hotel Transylvania?” Or maybe they are just little “monsters” themselves. Whatever reason you have from a birthday party to marvelous movie night there are some totally terrific Hotel Transylvania party ideas that our girls and their friends recently got to “sink their teeth into.”
Monster movie night is planned. We have having a slumber party and what better way to get ready than to don their Monster High Pajamas? Some colorful hair highlights in pink, green and blue really got my little monsters ready for the party.
Party Activities: To get that party started we created our own Monster High bookmarks. These are available for free on the Monster High website, but you have to have a code from a Monster High doll to print them. Then we created Valentine’s Day cards with all our favorite Hotel Transylvania characters. Some we colored to share, others we left uncolored so our friend could fill them in and others we printed in color. Just snip and sign.
The FREE Hotel Transylvania iPad app kept the kids busy while they were waiting for their friends to arrive and then helped to wind the party down for the “slumber” portion of the evening. By then mommy was ready for them to play the memory game and other fun stuff (did I mention free) as I tried to fight my own need for slumber.
Party Music: What’s a party without music? We created a CD using downloads from Amazon that the girls could really get up and dance too. Of course this included “Calling All the Monsters” by Chyna Anne McClain.
Party Food: Next up, the food. Oh wow the food! Pizza and Popcorn. Eyeballs (green grapes), Scream Cheese Dip, Pinky Fingers (Pretzels cut off at the ends to look like fingers) and Green Sludge Punch.
Here’s our recipe for Scream Cheese (which was really, really good and I’m going to definitely make again – even for a grown up party)
The girls all decided that this party was amaZING! Of course now they have all been using their pouty faces to try to score even more fun stuff! Including a new Monster High Doll that you put together – so they could make their own “Mavis.”
Hotel Transylvania’s star-studded cast includes Adam Sandler as the voice of Dracula, Selena Gomez as Mavis, Kevin James as a clumsy and loveable Frankenstein, CeeLo Green as the musically talented Mummy, and Andy Samberg as the hotel’s human intruder, Jonathan. Plus
many more! Be sure to stick around for the credits at the end and get up and dance to the song sung by Selena Gomez. It’s the story of an over-protective father, his friends as they enjoy a not so quiet weekend at their five star resort and 118th birthday party of Mavis, when it’s crashed by a human. Who just happens to think that Mavis is pretty amaZING. What happens when these two kids meet? You’ll just have to watch to find out.
Not sure if Hotel Transylvania is a good fit for your family? Before you buy it or rent it read my full review. But just to let you know there is nothing “blah blah blah” about this fun family movie available on DVD, Blu-Ray and (currently) On-Demand.
Blogging with integrity . . . I’m a member of CrowdTap which provided a free online screener of Hotel Transylvania (which I didn’t use because I wanted to use my big screen so I bought it OnDemand) and the mini movie, “Good Night Mr. Foot.” However, the opinions stated here are 100% my own.
